Over-the-Counter Medications

While most human medications should not be given to your pets, there are a few that are safe to use when given in the appropriate dosages.

Benadryl (Diphenhydramine HCl 25mg)
Effective for allergic reactions such as hives and insect bites; not effective for environmental allergies. Give every 8 hours, as needed.​

Imodium (Loperamide 2mg)
Effective for mild cases of diarrhea. Give every 8 hours, as needed.​
